Cluster opanLAB

Knowledge transfer into practice

As part of the priority program, methods for damage detection and condition assessment of bridges are being developed. A fundamental prerequisite for the validation of these methods is the availability of structural data from both undamaged and damaged states of structures. The openLAB is a large demonstrator located in Lusatia, Germany, that has been constructed as part of the mFUND project IDA-KI. This research bridge will be subjected to loads up to the level of severe damage to conduct comprehensive measurements. This will result in the creation of a unique database, which is essential for validating the developed methods. More ore information regarding openLAB is to be found within the following website page: https://tu-dresden.de/bu/bauingenieurwesen/imb/forschung/grossprojekte/openLAB?set_language=en. In Cluster openLAB, experiments at the openLAB are organized and coordinated to leverage synergies between projects and obtain representative structural data. The primary objective is to validate the methods developed in the projects and to develop benchmark datasets for damage identification.
