As part of the priority program, methods for damage detection and condition assessment of bridges are being developed. A fundamental prerequisite for the validation of these methods is the availability of structural data from both undamaged and damaged states of structures. The openLAB is a large demonstrator located in Lusatia, Germany, that has been constructed as part of the mFUND project IDA-KI. This research bridge will be subjected to loads up to the level of severe damage to conduct comprehensive measurements. This will result in the creation of a unique database, which is essential for validating the developed methods.
